Backfilling construction is a very crucial step to ensure the waterproofing effect of bentonite composite waterproof pad (GCL), and it must meet the following requirements:
The waterproof pad that has been laid and constructed must be backfilled on the same day (no more than two days at most).
2) All backfill soil should preferably be sand or sieved soil, and the soil must not contain any impurities such as stones larger than 10mm.
3) For every 50cm of backfill soil, it should be compacted (or compacted, vibrated, etc.), and the density of the backfill soil must be greater than 85%.
4) During the tamping and compaction process, care should be taken not to damage the waterproof pad. If any damage is found, it should be repaired as required.
5) When backfilling the plane, the thickness of the backfill soil after compaction should be no less than 30cm.
