The middle and later maintenance of cement blankets and precautions

This material is applied in the central and western regions of China, with a design life of over 50 years. To extend the service life, it is recommended to carry out maintenance work on the material every 5 to 10 years. Applying a layer of cement mortar on the surface of the material cement blanket can more effectively increase the service life of the material.

When the compressive strength of the material reaches 10.0MPa, it can bear the loads of workers and light construction machinery.

3. After the material is watered, it must not be struck or pulled forcefully until the final compressive strength is achieved. Do not strike the material with sharp objects.


Cement blanket is a soft cloth pre-impregnated with plastic. When it comes into contact with water, it undergoes a hydration reaction and solidifies into a thin, waterproof, fireproof and durable concrete layer. The new type of cement blanket is made of a three-dimensional fiber composite structure (3Dfibrematrix) woven from high-pressure polyethylene and polypropylene filament, and a dry concrete mixture (Dryconcretemix) with a secret recipe. The key components of calcium aluminate concrete are Al2O3,CaO,SiO2 and Fe2O3. The bottom edge of the white sail fabric is covered with polyethylene (PVC) backing to ensure the waterproofing of the cement blanket. During on-site construction, no concrete mixing machinery is needed on the spot. It is only necessary to simply pour water on the cement blanket or immerse the cement blanket in water to cause a hydration reaction. After setting, the fibers have the effect of enhancing the concrete and preventing it from cracking. At present, the cement blanket is 10 mm thick.



In fact, the new type of cement blanket is a combination of traditional concrete and textile fiber technology, with anti-seepage and multi-functional concrete powder integrated into the fiber frame. This enables it to have the advantages of being waterproof, fireproof, safe and durable, and also solves the problem of concrete cracking. It can be widely applied in railway lines, roads, water conservancy projects, and farmland irrigation, etc., and can be laid wherever one wants. Most importantly, cement blankets can not only reduce materials by 90%, but also shorten the construction period by 60%.
